TenBestStocks Model Portfolio versus
Value Line Group 1 Stocks for Timeliness

Discussion

Many investors are familiar with the well-known Value Line Investment Survey® and the valuable information that it provides.  Value Line evaluates a significant universe of stocks from the major stock exchanges for their relative price performance over a 6 to 12-month horizon. A complete description of the Value Line subscription service and system can be found at the Value Line web site and at most public libraries.

The five Timeliness Ranking groups utilized by Value Line ranks stocks for their future growth potential. The 100 Group 1 stocks represent the highest rating -- and greatest potential for growth. The overall performance record of Value Line's Group 1 stocks since 1964 is generally recognized as exceptional by knowledgeable investors.

The performance of all Value Line's Timeliness groups is advised semi-annually.  A graph comparing the performance since 7/1/99 between the TenBestStocks Model Portfolio and Value Line's Group 1 for Timeliness is shown to the right.  Changes to both have been made on a totally consistent basis.  Weekly stock adjustments have been made to each portfolio as appropriate and arithmetic averaging has been employed.
